I’ve seen people complaining about low speeds, so I did a test:

Conclusion?

The farther you get, the slower your download speed and the higher your ping….

Still, if you’re connecting locally, you are getting the speed you paid for.

When connecting overseas, use download accelerators. But please don’t rape the servers with your hammering of multiple streams from the download acclerators.

If you use BitTorrent, I suggest you to encrypt the connection to prevent the TMNet guys from controling your BT download speed.

I’ve been in Singapore for the past one week for some personal reasons. I brought my ExternalHDD along but my brother kept hogging the only computer with enough CPU to play Lucky Star and Gintama. I’ve got some new games for Wii, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero III and others.

I finished watching Lucky Star and it’s OVA and watched 10 or so episodes of Gintama while here. I also remotely sent Kannagi’s torrents to Vuze at home to download for me. It’s risky to download here in Singapore using my uncle’s computer with Obex around.

I replayed Pokemon Emerald on my EZ 3in1 and enjoyed it. I hadn’t played it for 2 years thanks to some guy snapping my old cartridge in half. Ask for who via e-mail.

I had fun chatting with my other uncle from UK about technology, electronics and other stuff. We chatted about how televisions work in detail and other things.

My brother just got his UPSR results and he got 2A’s 1B’s and 2C’s. Maths and Science are A, English is B and both Malay papers are C. He’s getting a budget increase for his new computer even with those results.

Anyway, it’s boring during the holidays and I have nothing much to do other than to watch anime and chat in IRC. I hope someone can recomend me a GOOD COMPUTER game to play with.

I’ll be leaving Singapore and returning to Malaysia tonight and I’ll write later!!
